Photosynthesis- The process by which a cell captures energy in sunlight and uses it to make food.

Equation for photosynthesis- Carbon Dioxide +Water + Sun+ Glucose + Oxeygon

Pigment- A colored chemical compouhnd that absorbs light.

Chlorophyll- A green pigment found in the chloroplasts of plants, algae, and bacteria.

Stomata- Small openings on the underside of a leaf through which oxygen and carbon doixide can move.

Autotroph- A organism that makes its own food.

Heterotroph- A organism that does not make its own food.

Respiration-The process by which cells withdraw energy from glucose.

Fermentation-When you break down sugars without oxygen.

Two examples of fermentation- alocholic and latic acid

The six steps of cell division- know the name of the step and what happens Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, and Cytokinesis.

Cancer- A disease where cells grow and devolope uncontrolably and harm cells around them.

Mutation- A change in the DNA of a cell.

Tumor- A mass of abnormal cells.

Three ways to treat cancer- Surgery, Radiation, Drugs or Kemotheropy.

Two ways to prevent cancer- Don't smoke, Eat healthy.
